New player incentives and bonuses

Since Pennsylvania opened its first sportsbook in November 2018, the market has been booming. To keep up with the expansion and win the ever-growing customer base, SugarHouse is offering new player incentives.

For example, SugarHouse online in New Jersey is offering new players a 100 percent match on initial deposits of up to $250. All new players need to do is enter a bonus code when registering for an account and making their first deposit. We can probably expect a similar offering in Pennsylvania.

The bonus money might be added to the player’s account within two to five days. To withdraw it, it might be necessary to wager it within 30 days. Beyond 30 days, any bonus money that hasn’t met the wagering requirements at least one time will probably expire.

We expect the book to offer very similar bonus terms to new customers in Pennsylvania, the home base for SugarHouse.

Web access

SugarHouse is already an established web brand in New Jersey, with

It’s a website version of its brick-and-mortar sportsbook that allows players access to everything that is offered in person but from the comfort of their homes. The web-based access to SugarHouse is also coming to Pennsylvania, and it’s expected to work on any available web browser.

Mobile application

The online SugarHouse Sportsbook offering should come with robust mobile access. Players will likely be able to go to the relevant app store (iOS or Android) and download the free SugarHouse Sportsbook app for Pennsylvania.

The New Jersey version of its mobile app looks and acts exactly like the web version, making it simple to switch back and forth between the two. We expect the same in Pennsylvania.

All activities, from registration to deposits and withdrawals, to browsing and placing wagers, will likely be possible both the website and mobile app.

Registering an account with SugarHouse PA

Registering for a new SugarHouse account should be fast and easy. All players will likely need to provide is their name, email address, physical address, date of birth, phone number and the last four digits of their Social Security number.

Finally, new players will probably be asked to select a unique username and password.

Using the provided information, the sportsbook should verify the new player’s identity and age and activate the account. In a departure from what has become the norm for other online sportsbooks, SugarHouse is not set to require photo identification. Alas, identity confirmation will be done using a player’s name, date of birth, and Social Security number.

Eligibility requirements

Anyone who is 21 years or older will be able to register for an account, regardless of his or her location.

However, to place bets, a player will need to be physically located within the state borders of Pennsylvania as verified by his or her IP address or the location services on his or her mobile device. It isn’t necessary to be a Pennsylvania resident.

As per the rules laid out by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, persons who are athletes, managers, coaches, referees or other officials who have influence over the outcomes of sporting events are eligible to open an account. Although, it is illegal for them to gamble on events that involve them or their affiliations.

Loyalty program

SugarHouse is set to offer its online players free membership into its iRush rewards program and its 11 tiers of benefits.

Points should be accrued with each dollar that is wagered, and the first tier is likely to be reached with as few as 40 points. Even at the lowest tier, members should be eligible to redeem points for bonus wagers at the iRush bonus store. At the highest tiers, players can look forward to claiming free dinners, price multipliers, birthday gifts, and custom deposit assistance.

The iRush rewards program tiers should work on a 60-day rolling period, with all points staying in a player’s account for 30 days from the time they were earned. Bonus store points will likely not subject to the 60-day rolling period and instead remain in a user’s account for 365 days.

Other available promotions

Along with bonus awards available to players who follow SugarHouse on any of its social media platforms, SugarHouse runs its Big Game Getaway Sweepstakes that will likely be available to online players.

Every 50 iRush rewards points earned on sports bets will likely grant players one entry into the sweepstakes, with the grand prize featuring overnight accommodations, dinner and two VIP tickets to the game of your choice. We expect cash prizes ranging from $50 to $2,000.

We expect the SugarHouse Sportsbook to offer a SugarHouse Jackpot Parlay. This parlay gives players a chance to win more than $100,000 through a series of bets over a selected timeframe.

Deposits and withdrawals

At the heart of playability for any online sportsbook, is the ease making deposits and withdrawals. For deposits, SugarHouse should give its players a wide variety of options.

Online bill pay will likely be the preferred method for both the player and the sportsbook. All it requires is an online banking ID and password. Transferring funds through online bill pay is instantaneous. In addition, there is no requirement to pass along the baking account number.

If online bill pay doesn’t work out, other options include:

  • Cash at PayNearMe locations
  • E-check
  • Neteller (credit or debit card)
  • PayPal

Withdrawal methods should be just as varied, with offerings that include e-check, Neteller, bank transfer or check by mail. E-check withdrawals typically take three to five days to process. While checks by mail can take up to 14 business days to reach the player.

Available wagers

Win/loss bets, future plays, propositions, parlays, over/under plays, and partial game bets should all be on the standard betting menu.

But what is not-so-standard is SugarHouse’s innovative new “cash out” feature. Before the game is over, players have the option of ending their bet early and cashing out partial winnings. Expect those winnings to be based on the odds at the time of the cash-out.

We expect in-play wagering to be an option, both through the website and on the mobile app. This is a highly popular means of wagering. It gives players the opportunity to play several games within a single game, through multiple halftime totals and second-chance multipliers. There should also be ways for players to pay their way out of bets and make new bets, all within the same game.

Rush Street says that because of its advanced technology, it will be able to keep those in-play wagers open for extended periods than most. Thus, resulting in players getting more betting options.

SugarHouse is set to take bets on NFL and college football, NBA and college basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, golf, tennis, boxing, MMA, motorsports and almost any other sport played around the world.
