PSB Pick Play: NASCAR Zooms Back On Track With Racing And Sports Betting Sunday

It’s happening live.

The virtual races and electronic tracks that gained our attention the last few weeks will fade into the distance. NASCAR is returning to the track, along with all the actual cars, drivers, and pit crews you’ve grown accustomed to.

On Sunday, NASCAR’s Cup Series resumes with a 400-mile race at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. The action will be broadcast on FOX starting at 3:30 p.m. And six more races will be held during the month of May, giving fans a healthy dose of the action they have been missing so much.

In this week’s installment of Penn SportsbooksPick Play, we’ll get you ready for Sunday’s race and all the other ones this month, with a quick look at all the wagers and betting odds available at online Pennsylvania sportsbooks.

FOX Bet boosts Kyle Busch betting odds at Darlington Sunday

Kyle Busch enters Sunday’s 400-mile race as the betting favorite to win it. FOX Bet has boosted Busch’s odds to +600, with Kevin Harvick (+650), Denny Hamlin (+700), and Chase Elliott (+750) close behind.

Busch is +550 at BetRivers, PlaySugarHouse and DraftKings, so bettors are wise to shop around as pricing varies across the industry. FanDuel has Busch and Harvick as co-favorites, both priced at +500.

The full list of FOX Bet’s top 15 is as follows.

  • Kyle Busch: +600
  • Kevin Harvick: +650
  • Denny Hamlin: +700
  • Chase Elliott: +750
  • Martix Truex Jr: +800
  • Joey Logano: +900
  • Brad Keselowski: +1000
  • Alex Bowman: +1300
  • Kurt Busch: +1700
  • Erik Jones: +1700
  • Ryan Blaney: +2000
  • William Byron: +2000
  • Jimmie Johnson: +2500
  • Matt Kenseth: +4500
  • Matt DiBenedetto: +5000

About twenty other racers carry even longer odds Sunday, giving bettors an even greater return on their investment. There are also odds available on racers to finish in the top three, top five, or top ten for those seeking more flexibility in their wagers.

Busch is also the betting favorite for the Coca Cola 600

After Sunday, NASCAR will stay busy with races on Tuesday (Xfinity Series) and Wednesday (Cup Series) next week. Both those races will also be held at Darlington.

Then, one of NASCAR’s signature events, the Coca Cola 600, roars into Charlotte on Sunday, May 24, right before Memorial Day. That race will air at 6 p.m. on FOX.

FanDuel already has odds available for the race, listing Kyle Busch as the favorite once again at +350. Martin Truex Jr. (+470), Joey Logano (+700), Kevin Harvick (+800) and Chase Elliott (+950) round out the top five.

Following that race, NASCAR will hold three more in Charlotte, on May 25 (Xfinity Series), May 26 (Gander Trucks), and May 27 (Cup Series). Many of the events will also have odds available at our region’s sportsbooks for those looking to join the action.

To borrow a metaphor, the last few months have been something like a car wreck. Perhaps even a 10-car pileup. But the caution is clearing.

Former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker is singing the national anthem Sunday. Actual cars will be on the oval in Darlington. And the green flag will wave.

It’s all happening live.
