PGA bets are live for Charles Schwab Challenge

Pennsylvania sportsbooks have made Rory McIlroy a consensus favorite in the Charles Schwab Challenge, which tees off next Thursday, June 11 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Colonial Country Club is a 7,000 yard, par 70 course that plays rather evenly on the front and back nine.

The tournament action begins at 6 a.m. and will be broadcast on the Golf Channel and CBS. There will be no fans in attendance and numerous guidelines to ensure the golfers’ health and safety.

McIlroy is +750 at BetRivers/PlaySugarHouse, FOX Bet and DraftKings. FanDuel has him at +700.

McIlroy was ranked as the No. 1 golfer in the world when the season was interrupted and will look to maintain that ranking next week. As noted by CBS Sports, McIlroy has finished fifth or better in his last five starts.

Futures bets are available on the entire field

The rest of the field for the Charles Schwab Challenge is absolutely loaded, with the top five golfers in the world all expected to play. Most sportsbooks have Jon Rahm behind McIlory at +900.

Justin Thomas is next in line at +1400. Webb Simpson (+1800), Bryson Dechambeau (+2200) and Brooks Koepka (+2200) follow them. The rest of the top 15 according to BetRivers/PlaySugarHouse is as follows:

  • Xander Schauffele: +2200
  • Dustin Johnson: +2800
  • Patrick Reed: +2800
  • Rickie Fowler: +3300
  • Scottie Scheffler: +3300
  • Sungjae Im: +3300
  • Tony Finau: +4000
  • Matt Kuchar: +4000
  • Marc Leishman: +4000

Other notable names include Justin Rose (+4500), Jordan Spieth (+4500), Bubba Watson (+9000) and Phil Mickelson (+12500). Odds vary somewhat across the region’s sportsbooks, so bettors would be wise to shop around. There are also prices available on the entire field, allowing for futures bets on numerous golfers.

DraftKings dfs contest offering seven-figure prize pool

DraftKings has already posted its Millionaire Maker contest for next week’s tournament, which features a $3 million prize pool and a first-place payout of $1 million. Entrants have to select six golfers who fit under a $50,000 salary cap and will earn points based on their performance.

Daily fantasy contests are available at numerous different price points and FanDuel will certainly have its offerings posted soon as well.

Futures bets are also available on golf’s upcoming majors

Following the Charles Schwab Challenge, the PGA tour will have weekly tournaments for the foreseeable future. This summer’s first major will be held August 6th-9th at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.

McIlroy is also the current favorite for that tournament at +800. There is also betting available on the U.S. Open, which has been moved to September, and the Masters, which will be held in November.

So after a three-month hiatus, the PGA Tour will finally make its return. Golfers will tee off. Putts will drop. And a champion will be crowned.

It’s all only a few days away now.
