Eagles – Cowboys Sunday Night Football Betting Preview

“The Birds” and “the ‘Boys” meet again.

It’s one of the best rivalries in the NFL. And on Sunday night, the game will decide first place in the NFC East.

The Dallas Cowboys started 3-0, but have since lost three straight games. The Philadelphia Eagles have been rather uneven all season, and are currently stuck in a 3-3 quagmire.

Something has to give on Sunday night.

Cowboys are currently a 2.5-point favorite

Philadelphia’s PlaySugarHouse Sportsbook has the Cowboys as a slight favorite heading into the weekend. The Eagles are +125 on the moneyline, whereas the Cowboys are -152.

If you want a good bet on the spread, FOX Bet is the site for you. They are spotting bettors +6.5 points on Eagles spread bets up to $25.

Players can also expect a number of live betting options on numerous sites once the game kicks off.

Over/under set at 49 points

The Sunday Night game’s total is posted at 49 points, but players need not rely on that number if they prefer others. FanDuel has the number listed at 48.5. Furthermore, one of the hallmarks of NFL betting is that many games are loaded with alternate totals and lines.

Over/under bets ranging from 35.5 to 62.5 are available at PlaySugarHouse, each of them carrying different odds. Players can also find spreads ranging from Cowboys +11 to Eagles +16.

Plenty of prop bets also available

For those looking for action throughout Sunday night’s game, prop bets may be the best option. Parx Sportsbook has a number of betting options that include the first scoring play and the total number of touchdowns. PlaySugarHouse has bets listed for the first team to score at a variety of point totals.

FOX Bet is offering an odds boost around Carson Wentz for new customers. If you are new to FOX Bet, you can place a bet up to $25 on Wentz to throw a touchdown pass at +100 odds.

Recent history mixed for both teams

If you’re looking toward recent performances to provide some betting help Sunday, there doesn’t seem to be a clear path. As previously mentioned, the Cowboys have lost three straight games heading into Sunday night’s contest. Last week, Dallas lost 24-22 to the lowly New York Jets. Prior to that, they had a home loss to the Packers and a road loss to the Saints.

Philadelphia lost 38-20 to Minnesota last week, but beat the Jets and Green Bay before that. The latter teams both beat the Cowboys, but common opponents can sometimes be perplexing in the betting world.

Dallas won the last meeting in December

The last time Philadelphia and Dallas met was in December of last season. The Cowboys won 29-23, giving bettors an intriguing reference point for this Sunday’s contest.

This game kicks off at 8:20 p.m. Sunday night on NBC. It’s hard to know exactly what will happen after that.

But it’s likely to be another good one between the Birds and the ‘Boys.

And there’s no shortage of things to bet on.
