Last week they kissed their sister.
Well, more specifically, the Philadelphia Eagles tied the lowly Bengals. But the age-old adage about ties seemed to hold true.
The Eagles sputtered mightily on offense for much of the game. And after gaining just enough yardage to try a game-winning kick in overtime, the team false-started, fell out of normal field goal range, and then simply folded, punting away any chance to win the game.
It was a lackluster effort that seemed deserving of any miserable metaphor.
East Coast/West Coast rivalry reignites on Sunday Night Football
Now, in Week 4, the Eagles will play across the country against a much better team in San Francisco.
Is it too late to turn the season around? Is Philadelphia even worth wagering on?
Well, FOX Bet has something to say about that. The sportsbook is granting users a risk-free bet of up $50 if they wager on the Eagles moneyline on Sunday Night Football.
So what might be a mediocre team and an uninspiring game becomes a little more interesting thanks to FOX Bet. Especially considering that Pennsylvania’s other pro team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, is on an unexpected bye this week after the opposing Tennessee Titans suffered a coronavirus outbreak.
So in this week’s installment of Penn Sportsbooks‘ Pick Play, we’ll take a long look at the Eagles/Niners game on Sunday Night Football and cover all the odds and available wagers at the best PA sportsbooks.
Could the moneyline come home? Eagles seeking their first win of 2020

The 49ers are favored by seven points and have a moneyline price of -300. FOX Bet has the game’s total set at 46.5 points. A number of alternate spreads and totals are available as well.

Sunday night’s game features a pair of top 5 defenses
Although Philadelphia’s offense has been less than impressive (it’s currently ranked 24th), the team’s defense is currently ranked fifth in the entire league. And even with an injury to defensive end Nick Bosa, San Francisco’s defense is ranked 3rd. So Sunday Night Football will spotlight two of the league’s top defensive units.
There will also be live betting options available as well as daily fantasy showdown contests that can provide other entry points into the Eagles/Niners game.
Can the Eagles turn things around Sunday vs. the 49ers?
So even with an Eagles team that has been rather blase, Sunday Night’s game still promises a fair share of excitement.
For starters, FOX Bet is providing a risk-free wager. And there is pricing posted for spreads and moneylines and props of all kinds. Live betting and daily fantasy showdowns will launch as well.
So sports bettors and Eagles fans alike should find plenty of intrigue.
