UFC Fight Night action returns June 13

PSB Pick Play: FOX Bet PA Boosting Odds For UFC Fight Night, Eye vs. Calvillo

Take your pick.

The UFC returns again Saturday with a Fight Night event that may be lacking in star power, but has the potential for some entertaining bouts. There’s no McGregor or Masvidal or “Bones” Jones in the lineup. But in the end, that may not matter.

Take the main event for example. Jessica Eye (15-7) and Cynthia Calvillo (8-1-1) are viewed as dead even by most oddsmakers, a pick ’em at most PA sports betting apps.

It’s a complete coin flip. And there are other fights on the card carrying close odds as well, setting viewers and bettors up some intriguing matchups. Furthermore, FOX Bet is enhancing the action by offering bet boosts on each of the card’s 11 fights.

The UFC has been one of the most consistent draws in the sports world over the last few months, generating continued action for sportsbooks. According to a news release by BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse, last weekend’s UFC 250 accounted for 32 percent of the weekend betting handle.

In this week’s installment of Penn SportsbooksPick Play, we’ll get you ready for the next one, by covering all the odds and angles for UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo, along with the available wagers at Pennsylvania sportsbooks.

Eye and Calvillo enter the main event on win streaks

Saturday’s UFC action is once again being held at the Apex Facility in Las Vegas. The preliminary fights start at 6 p.m. on ESPN+ with the main card moving to ESPN Pay-Per-View at about 9 p.m.

In the main event, a women’s flyweight bout, Eye has won four of her last five fights, the lone loss resulting from a vicious head kick KO by Valentina Shevchenko. According to CBS Sports, Calvillo is the No. 10 ranked strawweight and is coming off a majority draw in December. She has won two of her last three fights.

BetRivers/PlaySugarHouse and DraftKings have the fighters as -110. FOX Bet has them both at -118, with each having boosted odds to win in Rounds 1-5.

Vettori is the betting favorite in the co-main event

The co-main event is perhaps even more interesting. As noted by Forbes, Marvin Vettori and Karl Roberson have a history. The pair were supposed to fight back in March, but Roberson missed weight and then became ill and was pulled from the card. Vettori attempted to confront Roberson in a hotel lobby afterward and will now get an opportunity in the octagon Saturday night.

BetRivers/PlaySugarHouse and DraftKings have Vettori as -225 and Roberson as +175. FanDuel has Vettori at +245 and Roberson at +196. Over at FOX Bet, Vettori is -200 and Roberson is +140. FOX Bet has also boosted Vettori to win in Rounds 1-3 to +350, while Roberson’s price has been raised to +475.

For most of the fights, there are also wagers available on method of victory, total rounds, and whether or not the fight will go the distance. The complete list of bouts and their moneyline odds according to FOX Bet are as follows:

  • Jessica Eye (-118) vs. Cynthia Calvillo (-118)
  • Marvin Vettori (-200) vs. Karl Roberson (+140)
  • Merab Dvalishvili (-450) vs. Ray Borg (+280)
  • Andre Fili (-250) vs. Charles Jourdain (+180)
  • Jordan Espinosa (-162) vs. Mark De La Rosa (+115)
  • Jordan Griffin (+150) vs. Darrick Minner (-212)
  • Tyson Nam (-162) vs. Zarrukh Adashev (+115)
  • Julia Avila (-450) vs. Gina Mazany (+280)
  • Charles Rosa (+115) vs. Kevin Aguilar (-162)
  • Christian Aguilera (+135) vs. Anthony Ivy (-188)
  • Hannah Cifers (+150) vs. Mariya Agapova (-212)

Daily fantasy players can also find plenty of contests for Saturday night’s fights. DraftKings has one that pays out $100k to first and FanDuel has a number of big-money pools as well.

The UFC action starts tomorrow at 6 p.m. Perhaps it’s not a star-studded event, loaded with big names and headliners all across the card. But with one main event being a coin flip and the other involving a little drama, there should be more than enough action to satisfy fans. Especially with FOX Bet adding a little more juice.

So tune in. Place your bets.

And take your pick.
