Pick Play: Eagles Host Cowboys with Playoffs Looming

The rivalry usually has enough juice on its own.

But this week in Philadelphia, the matchup with the much-hated Dallas Cowboys carries even more weight. Both teams are 7-7. And Dallas can clinch the NFC East Division with a win.

So Sunday’s game, airing at 4:25 p.m. on FOX, is beyond big. And with a little betting action, it gets even bigger.

In this week’s installment of PennSportbook’s Pick Play, we’ll start with the Eagles-Cowboys showdown in Philadelphia. After that, we’ll cover the Steelers-Jets clash in New York and the Bills/Patriots just outside of Boston, along with all the corresponding odds in our region’s sportsbooks.

Cowboys at Eagles (+1.5): 12/22, 4:25 p.m.

It’s pretty simple for the Cowboys: win and they’re in. However, the Eagles are not out of the playoffs either and are just +106 on the moneyline at FanDuel Sportsbook. Dallas is -122. The game’s over/under is set at 46.5 points. FanDuel also has alternate spreads, totals, and a number of first-quarter and first-half bets available for Sunday’s game, giving players plenty of wagering options. There should also be live betting lines available once the game kicks off. Parx Sportsbook also has 106 bets available for this game for those interested in comparing odds.

Steelers at Jets (+3): 12/22, 1 p.m.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers have a 41-percent chance of making the playoffs. If Pittsburgh wins its final two games, the Steelers are in. Beyond that, things get much more complicated. BetRivers has Pittsburgh as -115 on the moneyline heading into New York. The Jets are -106. The game’s total is set at 37 points. BetRivers also has over 100 other bets available on Sunday’s game, including an extensive list of alternate spreads and totals. For those who like prop bets, there are also a number of offerings in regard to touchdowns and races to varying point totals.

Bills at Patriots (-6.5): 12/21, 4:30 p.m.

Buffalo visits New England Saturday a week after the Bills clinched a rare playoff berth. It’s a short week for Buffalo, with the Bills beating Pittsburgh six days ago on Sunday Night Football. The Patriots are -305 on the moneyline at BetAmerica in Presque Isle. The Bills are +240. The over/under is set at 37.5 points and the game’s touchdown total is listed at 4.5. BetAmerica also has first-quarter and first-half bets posted for those seeking more immediate results. Many other sites are also offering alternate spreads and totals Saturday’s contest.

If you’re feeling lucky, a parlay of the Pick Play games would pay out approximately $130 on a $20 bet.

Good luck and enjoy the games.
